Leaving a Space, or removing someone

In shortYou can take yourself out of any Space, any time, from the app. But nobody, not even the owner, can remove another member. Only Ortix support can do that, so if someone needs removing, message us.

Leaving? Entirely up to you. Take yourself out of any Space, any time, right from the app. No permission slip needed.

Removing someone else? Deliberately different. Not even the Space owner can remove another member. Only Ortix support can. If your group needs someone removed, message us and we'll handle it.

Why the extra step? Because removing someone touches their connection to shared money, and shared money plus group tension is exactly where a neutral party helps most. Putting removal in our hands protects everyone in the Space, including from disputes inside the group itself. Slightly slower, considerably fairer.

When someone needs to be removed

Three ways it happens. The Space owner can remove any member from the Space settings. Any member can leave on their own at any time. If the owner cannot be reached and the other members are asking for someone to be removed, message us: we look at it case by case rather than apply a rule, because every Space is different.
